Facultad officially part of Recoleta neighborhood receives the name because the University of Buenos Aires Economics and Medical Campuses. The area limits with barrio norte, once and downtown and it's perimeted by cordoba ave, callao, santa fe ave and pueyrredon. While in the modern maps appears as Recoleta, the portenos call it facultad and the prices for real estate, as the way it looks has nothing to with recoleta.

Location:
Facultad is limited by: Callao, Cordoba, Santa Fe, Pueyrredon ave's. The center of Facultad it's the area sorrounded by the subway station "facultad de medicina".

Safety:
The area has remarked differences, Marcelo T. de Alvear and the Hussain square are quite NOT SAFE to walk by during the night and generally the area gets dead, due it's proximity to the ONCE neighborhood, the area it's not very nice. However, during the day it's safe to walk by and there are many small caffes and services oriented mainly to students, whith reasonable prices and a vibrant ambience within it's streets.

Restaurants and bars:
There is a large selection of restaurants within the area. In general priced fair, they are open mainly during the day, and are oriented mostly to students so there is a fresh and noisy activity all the time.

Main activity of the neighborhood:
The campuses are the main axis for activities in this neighborhood. If you want to buy books, notebooks, paper, pencils, photocopies, etc nowhere you will find such a large selection and best prices than in facultad.

Main avenues and transportation:
Subway: Facultad de Medicina and Callao Stations. Main avenues are the perimetral avenues menctioned above.

Attractions:
A real peace of art it's the "palacio de las aguas corrientes" building, now privatized belongs to the public water company, Aguas Argentinas. It's a must see, and you can enter for free businessdays 9 AM to 4PM. A ride by the zone it's also interestig.

Nightlife:
Basically with a few exceptions there is no nitelife in this area, however, due it's proximity to barrio norte it's easy to find nightlife in that area.

Real Estate evolution:
Real Estate in this area it's cheaper than in Barrio Norte, there are basically standard apartments with a few exceptions. The real estate got revaluated lately also in Facultad, the price it's around USD 1.200 per square meter in July 2007 the smaller the apartment the higher the price per square meter.
